About 10 seconds passed before i realized my mistake and stopped the installation and selected the correct disk. My mistake: When i was going to install high sierra on the external hard drive i made the mistake of selecting the build in hard drive instead. But i think i made a mistake along the way which may have ****ed everything up.ģ. I found a 2tb hard drive and reformatted it to MacOS Extended (Journaled) and installed high sierra. My plan was to install OS on an external hard drive and boot the computer up with that one. I read in the same article that if this happens I have reinstall OS. Not even a grayed out image of the computers hard drive, just nothing!Ģ. It didnt work because there was no disk there that i could select. I saw a solution online which told me to boot the computer with "cmd + r" and go to choose startup disk. Now let me take you step by step through what i did and where im at right now.ġ. I did some reading and found out that the computer couldnt find its own startup disk, and that was causing the problem. ![]() After the update was finished she tried booting her computer only to be greeted with a blinking folder icon with a question mark inside it. ![]() It all started when she updated to high sierra. So I'm trying to fix my mom's computer, I'm not much of an apple guy so i need some help. ![]() ![]() Hello everyone, I hope you guys can help me.
